Names of refrigerants, their compositions and designations

ASHRAE Standard 34- provides a naming system for common refrigerants and assigns safety classifications to them. Provided below is a list of refrigerants, their names and chemical formulae.

·        000 - Methane Based

·        100 - Ethane Based

·        200 - Propane Based

·        300 - Cyclic Organic Compounds

·        400 - Zeotropes

·        500 - Azeotropes

·        600 - Organic Compounds

·        700 - Inorganic Compounds

·        1000 - Unsaturated Organic Compounds
